Baby Groot is a new Groot, potentially genetically the same as the previous Groot, but it isn’t clear. As we observe in the second film, Baby Groot is growing anew. A successor, potentially a genetic clone, but with a different consciousness. I’m surprised that Teen Groot hasn’t been thrown in as well. But I really miss Adult Groot. Mostly because he was an actual team member that could contribute to the Guardians. The others do highlight the groups nature as a dysfunctional found family. But as a hero anything but useful while also sapping effort from the rest. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set shortly after Guardians of the Galaxy 1, a matter of months, not years. Given all the Baby Yoda memes, I think he will sell far more merchandise than Baby Groot. Just look at him.

While an adult Groot would make it hard for the rider to burn him, baby Groot lacks the size and intelligence to avoid Ghost Rider, I’m not saying he would be gone quit, but after a while Ghost Rider will be lucky and get one hit in, which will lead to Groot’s downfall. Star Lord, even though he’s got a lot of experience from being a ravager and even with all his gadgets, still sort of has mind of a boy, his advantage is that everyone seems to underestimate him in a fight, if Quake does this, even with her powers and skills, she could lose. I think, overall, in the end Quake and Ghost Rider (MCU) takes the win against Star Lord and Baby Groot using their combined skills, teamwork, and training.
